John Story Jenks Elementary School circa 1960's

Greetings from the past, and from your former schoolmate, Michael Stevenson '68.

From age 5 to 13, I attended the John Story Jenks Elementary School in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Looking back, it was a time full of wonderful and colorful characters whom I remember, love and cherish. Since, for the most part, I have not seen any of them since June 1968, (the time of my graduation and some 35 years ago at the time of this writing), they are all trapped in time just as young and beautiful as they were then, in all their innocence, with my feelings for them all unchanged by that time.

What follows on this website, are the profiles of those wonderful people who were a part of this treasured time, and the joyful memories associated with them. They were both children and adults. They are in alphabetical order by class. Some signed my Autograph Book in June of 1968 on graduation day, a tradition at our school.

You who were there, are invited and urged to make written contributions to this website, dedicated to recollections of what was the finest school in the Philadelphia Public School system. What do you remember about this time period? Let's travel back, together to that time, by sharing your writings, photos, and comments that will certainly be welcomed and appreciated. They will be included in the relevant section of the website to the subject or person that you write about.

Everyone here would love to hear from you. So please send your submissions for web site updates to Webedit@circlegame.com.    May God bless you, and all of them.

To a 60's Era Reunion,
Michael Stevenson
