Timing The Birth of Jesus; PART 4 OF 4
Some Afterthoughts
I wonder about the comment that some make concerning the celebration
of Christ's birth on December the 25th, "Is does not matter what day Christ
was actually born, December 25th is simply a day what was chosen to celebrate
it." Is truly the only important point? Do we worship Messiah Yeshua so casually?
The Bible teaches that when David brought the Ark of the Covenant up to the LORD's
(YHVH) house that he "danced before the Lord with all his might" (2nd Samuel 6:14).
Should we not worship Jesus with all our heart, all our strength, and all our minds
Luke 10:27)?
If I sent you a birthday card on April 7th each year, would you not scratch
your head, and after a season ask me "Why?". Would you not at some point inform me
of the correct date? Is there anyone among us who would not? If it became necessary
to have your appendix removed, would you be satisfied with a doctor who made
approximations? I don't think so.
There are people in our midst right in this conference who have made professional
studies in some field of service. These people studied in college or nursing school or
some higher place of learning to prepare themselves for future work in their chosen field.
Is there any one of them who did not seek out every detail of study about their chosen
profession, so that they would be as knowledgeable as possible as they begin their work?
I think especially of those who sought out Master's degree's or doctorates.
We simply make the best efforts we can or we ought to, in the work we do, and in
the service we do for others. For Messiah Yeshua, should we not also seek out the most
perfect form of worship possible? I mean just because the entire flock may be flying
in the wrong direction... should we?
Ask yourself this question-- Would Jesus, the Christ, not be more honored by
those who seek to formally recognize His birth into the world, at the actual season of
His birth? Wouldn't this be true for any less person?
Shalom,
Michael
