The Armour of God

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
Ephesians 6:13

In this life, though we be firmly rooted in Christ, there is a battle that continues to take place against the flesh, and against the world, in which we can have the victory. Paul spoke of this battle when he wrote
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"
2nd Timothy 4:7

We too, will face this fight in our lives as Jesus of Nazareth, our Lord, clearly taught us:
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
John 16:33

As we face this tribulation, we do not face it alone, but rather as the Lord Jesus said, "...and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." He has also equiped us for this fight with the power of the Holy Ghost (Jn 1:12) that dwells within us, and with the ARMOUR of GOD.

Since this battle usually occurs every day, we ought to put on this armour every day, each piece of it, that we may be equipped to "withstand" [Eph 6:13] in the evil day. Satan is the second most powerful spiritual force in the universe, though greater is HE who dwells in us. Yet we are instructed to prepare ourselves, studying to show ourselves approved and putting on the whole armour of GOD.

We put on this armour to fight in a *spiritual battle. One where Satan would buffet the people of GOD through various means, but it adds up to this;
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12

There is a great deal of "spiritual wickedness" going on in this world but more- now, than ever before in that we are living in the very last days. Therefore it would do us well to put on this armour and study that which we are putting on, because each individual piece is *extremely important, each has a specific purpose in this battle.

Dear Heavenly Father,
In the name of Yeshua your Son, our Messiah, reveal unto us, this Armour that you have provided for us. That we might wear it in wisdom and in strength, and in victory, to the salvation of souls, Amen.
