having done all, to stand."

The Armour of GOD;
5. The Helmet of Salvation

"And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:" Ephesians 6:17
Friends in Messiah, this is a monumental
part of the whole armour of GOD. Let's look
at the "helmet of salvation."
In combat throughout the ages, warriors have
worn helmets for an obvious reason. Any type
of blow to head, will cause a person to go down
at least momentarily. This is critical to the
life of a combatant, because even though they
may be only unconcious, the next thing that
happens is that they are "finished off." As
ugly as this sounds this is the fact of the
matter.
Again, all that is necessary to drop the
strongest of men is a blow to an unprotected
head. Just ask Goliath. He was over nine
feet tall, unknown weight class, and everyone
was afraid of him except David, the shepherd
boy. Goliath was dropped with a single blow
to the head, then David cut off Goliath's
head.
Satan is out to destroy us, that is WHY we
have been instructed by GOD's word to PUT YE
ON THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD. There IS a
battle to be fought against the works of the
flesh. While we have been born-again of the
Spirit of GOD, our *flesh* has not been.
Therfore the battle-
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and
the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the
one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that
ye would. Galatians 5:17
And here is the protection:
"And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:" Ephesians 6:17
THE HELMET OF SALVATION:
The helmet of salvation of Ephesians 6:17 is
the knowledge of the believer that he or she
is in fact saved! The miracle of salvation is
that as we are born-again through faith in the
Lord Yeshua (Jesus), we are indwelt by His
very Spirit!...therefore GOD lives within us.
We are a new creation, born not of the will of
the flesh or of the will of man but of GOD! (Jn 1:13).
The old has passed away.....2 Cor 5:17
In GOD there is no darkness AT ALL, therefore
if He does indeed dwell within us then:
"Being confident of this very thing, that he
which hath begun a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Jesus Christ:" Philipians 1:6
Friend, if your saved, your saved. GOD saved
*YOU*... You did not saved yourself. The BLOOD
of Jesus Christ paid the price for your
rebellion against the Father. The account has
been paid...REJOICE! Yeshua said;
"And this is the Father's will which
hath sent me, that of all which he hath
given me I should lose nothing, but should
raise it up again at the last day." John 6:39
If you have been born-again, you will and already
have entered into eternal life...and if you really
want to know the fact of the matter, this was the
will of GOD before the foundations of the world was
laid! I say that because;
According as he hath chosen us in him before
the foundation of the world, that we should
be holy and without blame before him in love:
Ephesians 1:4
GRACE!
The Apostle Paul told us under the inspiration
of the holy Spirit that;
"For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should
boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
The shear *love* of the Father for you has brought
you FROM death TO life. Hallelu!
This is the HELMET OF SALVATION.
It is knowing that by grace ye have been saved.
Sure- "faith is the victory that overcometh the world-
but the faith comes from the Lord also.
Put on this Helmet, and put it on with GREAT JOY!
Walk everyday in *thanksgiving to the Father, that
you are going to live in the brightness of His glory
forever! This joy is your STRENGTH! (Nehemiah 8:10)
When the devil lays a temptation at your doorstep-
you will laugh at him for you would trade *nothing*
for the fulness of life that you have in the
Holy Ghost.
The method by which Satan will try to strike you in
the head, is to tell you that you are not saved.
Hey, if you are not sure that you are saved, you have
no reason to have joy....'cause you don't even know
if you are going to Hell or not! I guess you
wouldn't have joy.
But if you believe in the power of the atoning BLOOD
of Jesus then you will rejoice EVERYDAY in this
great mercy that has been given to you.
This helmet of the KNOWLEDGE of salvation, *will*
deflect any lie from Satan that would try to
discourage you. Rejoice in the Lord always, and
again I say, "REJOICE."
