The Armour of GOD;
Part 3. Shield of Faith

"Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of
the wicked."
Ephesians 6:16
In battle, the soldier's shield is of course
a critical instrument of defense. It is the
protection against all types incoming fire.
"Faith" is our shield. It is our shield
against spiritual wickedness in high places,
against all forms of satanic attack, against
all forms of fleshly temptation.
This faith, is NOT faith in OUR ability, or
knowledge, or courage, or our strength. This
faith is in GOD. Faith that Jesus will be
with us "...alway, even unto the end of the
world." And if GOD be for us, who can be against
us? The Lord hath said in HIS word;
"And he said unto me, My grace is
sufficient for thee: for my
strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore
will I rather glory in my
infirmities, that the power of
Christ may rest upon me."
2nd Corinthians 12:9
In this verse we can see that it is *GOD's
strength that works in the believer by faith.
In a situation of overwhelming adversity,
the Jewish people were trapped against the
Red Sea with the Egyptian Army closing in
behind them with every intention of destroying
them.
But by faith during this very circumstance,
Moses stood fast, and lifted up his staff over
the sea in FAITH, and it opened before him by
the power of GOD.
This means that GOD can do ANYTHING. Those
difficulties that you are having? Realize
that the GOD of the universe is with you and
in the face of adversity, temptation, and
persecution, having done all, STAND in faith
in HIS power (in His presence).
David, a mere shepherd boy, in faith stood
against a Phillistine giant almost 10ft tall,
and who knows what weight class. Yet, GOD
being with him, David had the victory!
With this shield of FAITH, as Satan hurls what
may seem to be the impossible at you...it is
your faith in GOD that will cause you to be more
than a conqueror! Believe in GOD. Faith takes
place in deep water. The book of Psalms assures us that;
"From the end of the earth will I cry
unto thee, when my heart is
overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that
is higher than I.
For thou hast been a shelter for me,
and a strong tower from the enemy." Psalm 61:2,3
This ROCK, which is higher, *certainly can and
will deliver, if we would have faith in HIM.
Faith means not knowing what the outcome will
be, the believer simply rests in the assurance
that GOD is *with* him or her, in the
circumstance.
THEREFORE, whatever evil comes their way, they stand!
- whatever evil words are hurled
against them they will stand!
- whatever slander is murmered
against them, they will stand!
- if their unbelieving family or
friends desert them, they will stand!
They will stand for this reason; Their eyes
are NOT on the circumstances. Their eyes are
on Jesus.
Their eyes are not on the winds and the seas-
they are on Jesus, and they have and hold up
their sheild of faith in Him.
They are following the Master's voice, and
NOT listening to any other, no matter how
loud the growl, because they know that all
power in heaven and in earth is in the hand
of Christ, the Creator. Hallelujah!
You see, in faith we do not even pay any
attention to that which we see. Our trust in
the faithful GOD that we serve- is the
reality for us. The scripture tells us that;
"(For we walk by faith, not by
sight:)"
2nd Corinthians 5:7
When the three Hebrew boys, Shadrack, Meshack,
and Abbednego were threatened with the
horrible flames of the furnice.....They held
up their Shield of Faith and declared, "Our
GOD is able to deliver us."
Let us hold up our shields of faith, declaring
the same thing, that our GOD is with us and He
lives in us, therefore whatever enemy rises
against us is actually rising against *HIM.
Do not be shaken. Trust in the GOD who opened
the Rea Sea. No matter what you see with your
eyes, or hear with your ears from the world,
do not let sag your Shield of Faith for GOD
will never forsake you.
