"Wherefore take unto you the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and
having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:13
The Armour of GOD;
Part 4. Gospel of Peace
|
"And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of
peace;" Ephesians 6:15
One aspect of the born-again experience, that
will build up the faith and strength of the
believer, is the sharing of the gospel of the
LORD and Saviour Yeshua. Yeshua commanded us to;
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo,
I am with you alway, even unto the end of
the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore HE has commissioned us to preach this
gospel. In relation to the Armour of GOD that
we are to put on daily, the Bible instruction
tells that this is what we are to have our feet
"shod" with or wearing the gospel of peace.
Where are we going to go today? Let's go
somewhere where we can lift up the name of
Jesus, that some lost soul without Christ might
hear and believe the gospel unto life
everlasting. What does the scripture say?
"Now then we are ambassadors for
Christ, as though God did beseech
you by us: we pray you in Christ's
stead, be ye reconciled to God." 2nd Corinthians 5:20
And what does GOD think of these feet that
bring His gospel of recconciliation?
"How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him that bringeth
good tidings, that publisheth
peace; that bringeth good tidings
of good, that publisheth
salvation; that saith unto Zion,
Thy God reigneth!" Isaiah 52:7
The preaching of the gospel, functioning as a
piece of the whole armour of GOD works like
this; A person who goes out into the day with
a mindset to share the gospel of salvation with
whomever they are given the opportunity...and
not just sharing the gospel but by faith
*expecting somewhere along the line for someone
to pray with them to receive Christ as Lord is
simply less apt to be subject to the devices,
or temptations of the devil.
If one has prayed,"Lord Jesus, use me as your
ambassador this day to further your kingdom-
Send some soul across my path that I can
testify of your love for man" then that person
will probably find it *less of a temptation to
partake of blatent fleshly temptation which may
be offered him. He or she would not want
*anything* to destroy their testimony and thus
render it without effect. That person is on
guard. Their very purpose is to;
"And the lord said unto the servant,
Go out into the highways and
hedges, and compel them to come in,
that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23
So as the saint of GOD puts on their armour,
first of all having the true gospel, and
wearing the breastplate of righteousness, they
establish their very purpose as being an
ambassador for Christ's kingdom, not allowing
themselves to be entangled in the affairs of
this world.
