11. "...To Finish the Transgression"; Yeshua's Accomplishment |
11a. "Transgression" Means Revolt/Rebellion
It is very important to understand the Hebrew meaning of the word translated
"transgression" in Daniel 9:24. From Strong's Greek/Hebrew Dictionary; |
H6588 pesha (peh'-shah)
From H6586; a revolt (national, moral
or religious):
- rebellion, sin, transgression,
trespassive |
To finish the revolt is the entire idea of this first victory of Jesus over
the world. Revolt against who? Revolt against God. Remember that it was
Israel's rebellion against YHVW God that got them delivered into the
hands of the Babylonians in the first place? Remember Daniel's prayer in the
earlier part of the chapter asking forgiveness for that sin? |
11b. Israel's Transgression, Israel's Rebellion
Remember that God answered Daniel's prayer with this vision, the central
point being the MESSIAH who would save from all these things, including
that wicked spirit of rebellion against the Father. Consider God's language to
the nation of Israel in another part of Scripture, concerning their MESSIAH;
Isaiah 40:1
1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. |

11c. Yeshua Has Delivered Us From Our Transgression
It would bewilder those only looking through the world's eyes (as opposed to those
in the Kingdom of God that is today, in Christ) to hear that statement to the nation
of Israel that her warfare is accomplished! All the unbelieving see is the constant
state of physical warfare of Israel of old, as well as Israel- post 1948AD.
But God is not referring to the cessession of warfare with the ungodly, He- the Messiah,
has delivered we who believe in Him from our own rebellion, trepass, and warfare
against God. How? Because as Ezekiel has said He has removed our hearts of stone and
replaced them with a heart of flesh, (Ezekiel 11:19) and has indwelt us with His very
Spirit! This is both true and is, now. The Lord Jesus said;
Luke 3:20-21
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
|
- Have you been born of the Spirit of God?
- Is Christ Jesus your Saviour and LORD?
- Has He placed His Holy Spirit within you?
|
Is this true in your life? If so- then Jesus of Nazareth has ended
your transgression against Almighty God. Don't expect the non-believing
world, void of the Holy Spirit, and spiritually blind to see that reality. You must both
see it and rejoice in it, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. You see, the actions of
Messiah regarding salvation are only for the people of God. And the salvation of Israel,
both national and spiritual is what this prophecy is all about. Yeshua, the MESSIAH,
has accomplished this.
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
