14. "...to bring in everlasting righteousness"; Mission Accomplished! |
14a. Understanding The Two Types of Righteousness (Romans chp. 10)
The key to understanding Messiah Yeshua's bringing in everlasting righteousness
to this world, the fulfillment of Daniel 9:24, is the description of the two types
of rigtheousness made in Romans chapter 10. One type mentioned is the righteousnes
of Man. The other is the righteousness of God. There's a big difference! Let's
take a look, shall we. First, Paul speaking about un-believers
mentions that they are ignorant about this difference;
Romans 10:3
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God.
|
(Thus the two types of righteousness are established. This- to the point that
the following verse explains that Messiah Yeshua's Righteousness completely
brings and end to the Law (of Moses) for establishing rigtheousness.
|
Romans 10:4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
|
Once a person believes in Christ Jesus, they (and you) can forget about the Law
from that point on, as far as determining whether you are righteous or not. In
the next verse we have a brief statement as to why;
|
Romans 10:5
For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man
which doeth those things shall live by them.
|
(But who has accomplished this other than Jesus of Nazareth, Himself? The answer
is no one. None other has done this. And because of the incredible need revealed
by understanding this lack, we are then pointed to the righteousness that will save.
That is faith in Jesus Christ.)
|
Romans 10:9,10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.
|
(The reader is being told that through faith in Jesus Christ and in confession
of that faith, the believer can know that he/she is saved. Incredible!)

14b. The Righteousness of God
Knowing who Jesus of Nazareth is, the very Word made flesh, we know that He is
the actual physical embodiment of the Holy and Righteous God of the Universe.
When the Word became flesh (John 1:14) the actual presence of God was on earth in
the form of a man. A very special man born of a virgin, Mary. The perfection of
His sinless life is the testimony of who He was that walked among
us. He fulfilled the very law, all of it.
The reason this is possible was because of the everlasting righteousness presence
within His Spirit. Whenever there is a reference to that which is "everlasting"
in the Bible we have a direct reference to God, Himself. It is not
the righteousness of man to look for in Daniel 9:24, as the spiritually blind do
in Romans 10:3 who are ignorant of everlasting righteousness. No- rather it is the
everlasting righteousness that was presence in the man Jesus of Nazareth that was
brought into the world upon the incarnation of the Word who is God.
